Dr. Gulzar Cheema

MBBS, LMCC, CCFP, FCFP

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Cheema, MBBS, LMCC, CCFP, FCFP, was elected in B.C. in May 2001 to represent the riding of Surrey-Panorama Ridge. On June 05, 2001 Dr. Gulzar Cheema was appointed as a member of the Executive Council for the Government of B.C. as Minister of State for Mental Health. On January 26, 2004, he was appointed as a member of the Executive Council for the Government of B.C. as Minister of State for Immigration and Multicultural Services. He was also a member of the Legislative Assembly in Manitoba for five years and served as critic for health. He has also practised medicine in Winnipeg and rural Manitoba. He received his bachelor of medicine and surgery from India’s Punjab University, interned at the University of Newfoundland and was a resident at Saskatoon’s University Hospital. In 1992 he was awarded the Canada 125 Medal for community service. To promote the health and welfare of the community, Dr. Cheema participates weekly on local multicultural radio talk shows.

At present he is practicing family medicine in Surrey, BC and is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Family Practice.

He is the first Indian born person to be elected as a MLA in Canada.

Dr. Mandeep Chatha

Medical Physician

Dr. Mandeep Chatha is a board certified family medicine physician. She is a graduate of the American University of Antigua where she obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences and Doctor of Medicine degrees. She completed her family medicine residency at the University of Alabama where she also served as chief resident of hospital services in her final year. Dr. Chatha believes that family medicine is the heart of the medical field and she is excited to be home to provide full spectrum care to the community of Langley. She is passionate about nurturing an ongoing, patient-centered relationship that emphasizes individualized, integrated care over the entire lifespan of her patients. Outside of medicine, Dr. Chatha enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures. Her pride and joy are her two cats Nylah and Mia.

Dr. Harleen Mand

MD, CCFP

Medical Physician

Dr. Harleen Kaur Mand grew up in Delta, BC. She attended the University of British Columbia where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree. Subsequently, she attended Ross University and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine and completed her residency in New York. She has been practicing in Surrey for the past 4 years and enjoys giving back to her community. Her hobbies include traveling, meditation, being outdoors in nature.
